The Swoosh’s Store Reset
Nike’s Seattle flagship has a new look. This week, the athletic brand unveiled a redesigned store on the corner of Sixth Avenue and Pike Street, and will be celebrating all this weekend with former Seattle Seahawk Warren Moon. The flagship stocks men’s and women’s running and fitness gear, as well as Nike and Jordan basketball sneakers for men. It also features several new bells and whistles, including a custom neon sculpture touting local sports icons and premium services such as run analysis, bra fitting and pant hemming.
New Duo for Dick’s
Dick’s Sporting Goods is adding two more doors to its growing store roster. Next Friday, Aug. 7, the sporting-goods retailer will debut locations in Valparaiso, Ind., and Bismarck, N.D. The Bismarck opening marks the company’s first foray into North Dakota. Both stores will feature Nike and Under Armour shop-in-shops, and will sell athletic and outdoor apparel and footwear for team sports, fitness, camping, hunting and fishing. With these openings, Dick’s total door count has reached 620.
COS Targets the States
British apparel and footwear brand COS is increasing its U.S. expansion plans. After launching in the States last year with stores on L.A.’s Beverly Drive and in New York’s Soho neighborhood, the men’s and women’s brand is set to open four more doors this fall. It is doubling down on its SoCal presence with a 4,165-sq.-ft. space in Costa Mesa, Calif., and in New York it will add a second location on Fifth Avenue in midtown Manhattan. Additional stores will be situated in Boston and Houston. COS first launched in 2007 and now has 125 stores in 26 countries.
