The country’s best high school basketball players will compete once again this spring in New York, and Dick’s Sporting Goods has signed on to sponsor the thrilling event for the third straight year.
The season-ending tournament for eight of the nation’s top-ranked boys’ teams and four of the best girls’ teams will take place from March 31 to April 2, 2016.
“We are excited to continue our support of high school basketball across the country by sponsoring the Dick’s Sporting Goods High School Nationals Tournament again in 2016,” said Mark Rooks, VP of sports and community marketing for the retail chain.
The tournament kicks off on the 31st with the boys’ quarterfinal games, which will air on ESPNU. The semifinals will be held on April 1 at Christ the King High School in New York, with the boys’ games airing on ESPN2 and the girls’ games on ESPNU.
Madison Square Garden will host the boys’ and girls’ championship games on April 2. Fans can watch the boys face off on ESPN, while the girls’ final will air on ESPN2.
For the past three years, Monteverde Academy in Monteverde, Fla., has been the victor in the boys’ tourney and is expected to return this spring. Among the girls’ group, Miami Country Day in Miami took home the prize in 2015.
