Gallagher, who joined Barneys in January 2001, has held a number of positions in men’s merchandising and was most recently VP and DMM of men’s footwear and accessories. She will continue to report to Tom Kalenderian, EVP and GMM, Men’s and Chelsea Passage.
Elsewhere in the company, Jay Bell was promoted to SVP and DMM of men’s designer, contemporary and developing-designer sportswear. The executive, who joined Barneys in October 2000, has held several positions in men’s merchandising and was most recently VP and DMM of men’s designer sportswear and men’s contemporary sportswear.
John Totolis, VP and DMM of men’s clothing, dress and sports furnishings, has assumed additional responsibility for children’s, while Leah Kim has been promoted to SVP and DMM of women’s ready-to-wear.
Last month, the luxury retailer announced its “Sole Series” project, which will see eight exclusive footwear collaborations rolled out over six months. Each of the eight styles will be released on its e-commerce website and select retail locations.
In the first collaboration, Barneys reworked the classic Adidas Stan Smith sneaker. The men’s and women’s leather sneaker, priced at $150, comes in an all-white or all-black colorway and features a Barneys-branded tongue, as well as Adidas’ signature perforated stripes in a new asymmetrical treatment.
