Rachel Zoe has a new project up her sleeve. The celebrity stylist partnered with Ugg to act as the creative head behind their lookbook shoot for the new Classic Slim collection.
The photos were shot in Los Angeles by Justin Coit and feature a street-style vibe. Here, Zoe takes Footwear News behind the scenes.
What was your inspiration in styling this campaign?
“It was all about recreating that effortless cool-girl style, which is so true and organic to the brand. We shot in different locations around Los Angeles — it was primarily street style-inspired, so the overall look and feel lent itself perfectly to the new Classic Slim Collection. The idea behind the campaign is giving women something they really want to wear and something they can feel comfortable in every day, from day to night.”
Wha’s your favorite anecdote from the shoot or working with the Ugg team?
“I loved the whole day — it was really fun. Being on location in Los Angeles, where I’ve lived for over a decade now, is always special for me. We ultimately shot in three locations in L.A., each of which lent a different feel to the overall look of the campaign. Styling this campaign just felt so right for me. I have always been a fan of Ugg — the brand is all about comfort without sacrificing style. It’s the epitome of effortless cool, and I’m obsessed with that. Working with the Ugg team was such an honor.”
How would you style the new Classic Slim product?
“It really depends … I think what’s most compelling is that the Classic Slim is something women can work seamlessly into their wardrobe. The versatility is what I love most about the collection — the fact that you can dress it up or down is everything.”
Favorite family activity for the holidays?
“Spending time with my family some place remote — usually on a beach. It’s my favorite thing in the world.”
