Cole Haan has revealed a new interpretation of the its classic loafers as part of its fall ’15 collection. The brand is releasing a new campaign to support the shoe’s release.
“The Pinch Campus is the epitome of elegant innovation, representing a collision of style, craft and engineering,” said David Maddocks, chief marketing officer and GM of business development at Cole Haan. “While it is, in every way, a classic Pinch Penny Loafer, it is also decidedly younger, with a longer vamp, storm welt, sneaker-like toe box and all-rubber outsole.”
The Pinch name originates in the technique cobblers use to pinch the leather as it’s sewn together. The brand says it applies the same craftsmanship to the new collection.
The campaign, called “The New Class” and shot by photographer Christian Hogstedt, features models of a variety of ages who are meant to represent both students and professors on a college campus.
The Pinch Campus comes in a range of colors for women, including deep forest, crimson, blazer blue, black, black with ivory and tan with ivory. For men, the shoes are available in deep forest, crimson, blazer blue and black. They are on ColeHaan.com and at retailers for $140.
