Pentland Posts Revenue Gains

London-based brand-management firm Pentland Group Plc released 2014 earnings that showed increases in revenue buoyed by sales growth at Ted Baker Footwear and Speedo, the company said in a release.

Pentland Group’s total revenues for the year ended Dec. 31, 2014, were up 14 percent, to 2.2 billion pounds, or $3.63 billion.

The Pentland Brands division — which includes footwear brands such as Ted Baker, Kangaroos, and Lacoste Chaussures — saw a 5 percent jump in revenue, to 618 million pounds, or $1.1 billion.

“Ted Baker footwear had another record sales year, delivering double-digit growth with strong performance in the U.K. and U.S.A. … Lacoste Chaussures enjoyed another year of strong sales, with growth in major markets, including the U.S.A. and China,” the company said in a statement.

Pentland Group — comprised of the company’s licensees and brands, as well as a retail division that includes England-based retailer JD Sports Fashion Plc — posted total operating profit of 160 million euros, or $264 million, a 30 percent year-on-year increase.

The company said its “continued development of a global presence” has been a strong driver in helping it achieve sales growth at a number of its brands.

“The full-year results reflect the quality and continued international development of Pentland’s portfolio of brands in sports, outdoor and fashion,” the firm stated.

Pentland said it plans to continue to invest in the global expansion of its brands.
