To celebrate the 100-year milestone, Brown Shoe Co. employees, retail partners, investors and analysts will gather at an event in New York on April 23 after Sullivan rings the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
The anniversary party will take place at 4 World Trade Center and feature performances from Jennifer Hudson and more surprise guests.
“There have been so many memorable moments over the past 100 years, and this is our opportunity to say thank you to all our partners: the wholesalers, the retailers, our bankers, analysts and employees,” said Brown Shoe Chairman, President and CEO Diane Sullivan.
“This is an impressive and outstanding moment during which to say thanks for 100 years and get everyone excited about what the future holds for the company,” she said.
“It’s a great time to get together with our retail partners and the people we connect with and celebrate a small victory before getting back to work,” added Jay Schmidt, president of Brown’s contemporary fashion segment.
“We’ve got a lot on our plate to execute for this year and the following years, and we’re focused on taking the company forward and into the future. In 100 years, I hope Brown will still be doing the same type of business in a new way with the same passion, drive and focus on strategy,” he said.
