Concepts and New Balance have collaborated on another exclusive footwear style. The CM496 Pool Blue, a take on New Balance’s 496 style for men, is inspired by Boston’s Charles River and boating events.
It features a red and turquoise suede upper, a water-print insole, and gum rubber outsole. The style, which retails for $130, will launch in Concepts’ Cambridge and New York store on Nov. 15.

Sneaker boutique Concepts unveiled its pop-up space in New York last night, marking the launch of an exclusive collaboration rosé-colored shoe with New Balance (yes, inspired by the drink).
The 997 Rosé, which is made in the U.S., features a suede upper, croc-embossed leather accents and the Concepts logo on the insole.
“We’ve been collaborating with [Concepts] for years, and they’ve always been great partners,” said Ben Cuthbert, product manager for New Balance. “Concepts came up with the design, which was done on the classic New Balance 997 silhouette. It’s actually just a men’s style, but it goes down to a [size] 5, so women can wear it, too.”
Notable attendee DJ Clark Kent praised the shoes, writing on his Instagram: “These 997’s are easily the best New Balance to release this year. (Pictures do no justice.) #StayFRESH.”
Plenty of women in attendance were also seen admiring the shoes.
Concepts’ new pop-up will remain open until the New Balance style sells out, and re-open when the retailer launches its next collaboration.
Past collaborations between Concepts and New Balance have included the 998 silhouette in a mint and sea blue colorway.
The 997 Rosé will be available on Nov. 8 at the Concept store (225 Hudson St.) for $235.
