Portland, Ore.-based LaCrosse Footwear Inc. yesterday acquired iconic footwear brand White’s Boots Inc., based in Spokane, Wash. White’s, founded in the mid-1850s, manufactures boots for logging, forestry and casual wear in its domestic factory and operates a companion retail store.
LaCrosse has purchased all outstanding shares of the privately held White’s for an undisclosed amount, LaCrosse said. Gary March, president of White’s, will remain in his current role. The sale includes its factory in Spokane, where all product is manufactured, as well as a 8,900-sq.-ft. retail store where customers can observe boots being produced.
“White’s tradition in U.S. manufacturing complements [LaCrosse’s] Danner brand,” said Craig Cohen, VP of sales and marketing for LaCrosse. “We believe LaCrosse can help extend the reach of White’s brand and infuse the necessary resources to grow globally.”
