Footwear News asked retailers to weigh in on their top sellers in the women’s category this week:
THE LITTLE SHOEBOX, Reston, Mass.
1. Claudia Ciuti Michy chunky-heeled pump
2. Delman’s suede boots
3. Butter’s glittery T-strap
Fall trend: “So far, most customers are just taking a surmise for pre-fall and fall,” said owner Emilie Blaze. “There’s been a lot of interest in suede color-blocking, and the smoking slipper is going to be big again this year.”
ETHER, Portland, Ore.
1. Qupid stacked-heel pump
2. Modesta cut-out bootie
3. Ann Michelle classic stilettos & peep toes
Fall trend: “In Portland, every fall we see lots of boots, especially because people love to wear socks and hosiery with them,” said store manager Cassie Bledsoe. “Tall combat boots are good this year, and booties always do well, but this year we’re seeing cut-out ones.”
GREGORY’S, Dallas & Houston
1. Amanda Gregory Italian Springolator mule
2. Sergio Rossi boots
3. Prada sneaker wedges & strappy gladiator sandals
Fall trend: “This fall, the stretch suede over-the-knee boots are really hot,” said owner John Harris. “The low chunky motorcycle boots are selling well, too.”
BLOOMINGBIRDS, Aspen, Colo.
1. Booties, all brands
2. Free Lance motorcycle boots
3. Robert Zur loafers
Fall trend: “Totally about booties,” said owner Patty Patterson. “They’re easy to wear, and we know they’ll do well this year.”
