WSA Show Preview

WSA Show Preview
On the WSA show floor in July 2012

When WSA gets under way Jan. 29-31 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas, the sourcing and fast-fashion event will celebrate a number of firsts.

For starters, this will be the first installment of the event since Advanstar Global LLC, which operates Magic, Project and FN Platform, acquired ENK International LLC, the show’s previous owner. (WSA and Sole Commerce are now both part of Advanstar’s footwear division.)

Also, the show been has combined into a single hall, making it easier for attendees to navigate the 150,000 square feet of exhibition space, and 380 factory direct manufacturers. The event will also feature a redesigned floor layout, as well as matching services to help buyers find factories suited to their specific needs. Translators will also be on hand to assist as needed.

To encourage buyers to walk the full show, organizers have arranged a “Buyer Appreciation” raffle. Three raffle boxes will be placed throughout the show, where buyers will drop their entry cards for a chance to win prizes as they shop the show. Winners will be announced at the WSA Attendee Appreciation Opening Night Party.

The “Design Studio Live” will return for a second season. A specially designated area of the show floor will highlight the talents of alumni from Los Angeles-based Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. They will design projects in real time during the three days of the show, with the theme “Women’s Fast Fashion Footwear.”

While show organizers haven’t released registration numbers, half of the show’s attendees will be from outside the U.S., from 35 different countries.
