Paterno, who left his post as group president of footwear at The Jones Group Inc. in June, after four years at the firm, will oversee all businesses under the company’s umbrella. The firm’s footwear brands include Elie Tahari, Ellen Tracy, Ash, French Connection, Jean Michel Cazabat, Luxury Rebel and Julian Hakes.
The executive last year told Footwear News he had left Jones to make a lifestyle change and that he planned to spend several months contemplating his next move. In a statement on Tuesday, he said, “I am thrilled to have this opportunity to play a leadership role with Highline United. [It] is a growing, dynamic company with great people and an amazing portfolio of brands.”
Paterno will begin work at the firm on Jan. 28.
Highline United Chairman Mark Cocozza was also upbeat about the addition. “[Paterno] is an experienced and talented executive with a proven track record of success and [he is] uniquely qualified for this position,” he said in a statement.
