Following Advanstar Fashion Group’s decision to hold WSA concurrently with FN Platform, WWD Magic, Sourcing at Magic and Footsteps — making it a fixture at Magic Market Week — the VP of footwear for Advanstar is upbeat about the opportunity.
“WSA had emerged with a new identity [as a fast-fashion show], and it will be a tremendous complement to the branded show,” Gallin said. “FN Platform will remain our branded product show, and WSA will be our home for affordable fashion. WSA will be able to grow and prosper as the affordable fashion segment, making it very easy for buyers to decide how to spend their time at the shows.”
Footwear sourcing exhibitors will be given a special designated area on the show floor, at Sourcing at Magic. “It will have true identity for footwear contract manufacturers,” Gallin said.
Karalynn Sprouse, VP of sourcing at Magic, will oversee the sourcing component of WSA.
WSA’s fast-fashion exhibitors include all major U.S.-based footwear suppliers, as well as affordable apparel and accessory resources. The show’s sourcing exhibitors include factory representatives and finished-goods suppliers from China and other regions.
