The trade show, with its next edition slated for Aug. 19-21, has partnered with the National Shoe Retailers Association to add a half-day educational seminar the day before the exhibition floor opens. The NSRA did not reveal specific topics for the first event, set for Aug. 18, but the organization’s programs usually center on practical industry issues.
“Our goal [is] to empower both sides of the aisle with the information necessary to prosper,” FN Platform VP Leslie Gallin told Footwear News.
NRSA President Chuck Schuyler added in a statement, “We are thrilled to partner with FN Platform and have always been impressed with its commitment to the footwear industry and to independent retailers.”
The increased programming is the latest in a series of expansion moves at FN Platform. The trade show’s parent company, Advanstar Fashion Group, recently moved the date of the affordable fashion- and sourcing-focused WSA show to run concurrent with FN Platform. February’s installment also included additional square footage and more seminar topics, golf cart shuttle service between WWD Magic and FN Platform, and a digital interactive way-finding system.
