With an illustrious cinematic history that dates back to the golden age of the silver screen, Salvatore Ferragamo is no stranger to film.
Tuesday that theatrical bond was furthered with the release of the first chapter of “Walking Stories,” an eight-part short film by Luca Gaudagnino (the director behind 2009’s “I Am Love”) and produced by Michael Costigan (“Brokeback Mountain” and “Girl, Interrupted”).
The light romance features an eclectic cast including Lauren Hutton and such up-and-coming names as Kaya Scodelario (of U.K. show “Skins”), Billy Magnussen (“The East”) and Nathalie Buscombe (“Eastenders”).
Florence, Shanghai and Los Angeles provide the mise en scene for retro-clad characters, who walk in and out of each other’s lives in the brand’s signature loafers and satin slippers, as well as colorful sneakers and iconic cork wedges.
The biweekly series will screen on Ferrragamo.com.
