Pack It In
Smithfield, R.I.-based Ranger Boots will debut the Puddleton Rainpack boot for women and children for spring ’14. The style, which will retail for $40 for adults and $30 for kids, is a waterproof tall boot that can be folded to fit into a purse or bag. Available in a range of colors and patterns, the Puddleton collection will be targeted to independent footwear and outdoor accounts, as well as the family channel.
Newmarket, N.H.-based New England Footwear will segment its product offering into three collections for spring ’14. GoLite, the company’s original brand, will focus its efforts on the adventure travel category, with styles for men and women targeted to independents. Launching for spring is the Varios by GoLite line of performance outdoor shoes (at right) that will retail from $69 to $99 and will target outdoor specialty shops. And the new Sunapee by GoLite collection is positioned as outdoor comfort, with casually styled shoes that will retail for $120 to $150 and will target premium national chains and independents.
Rockford, Mich.-based Chaco, a division of Wolverine World Wide Inc., is making versatility the goal with its new ReversiFlip sandal for women. The $60 style has a nonmarking outsole made of 25 percent recycled rubber on the brand’s LuvSeat platform. The spring ’14 look is outfitted with removable black straps that can be swapped out with patterned and colored straps sold in sets of four for $20 (at right). The sandal will deliver Feb. 1 to outdoor and footwear independents.
Form & Function
Italian outdoor firm Salewa is launching lifestyle looks for spring ’14. The Escape GTX and Ramble GTX combine casual waterproof style with Gore-Tex’s new Surround membrane to offer breathability throughout the shoe, including the sole. The $169 men’s-only Escape (below) is made in Italy of nubuck; the $149 Ramble for men and women features suede. Both styles will deliver March 15 to outdoor specialty accounts and crossover dealers looking for hybrid outdoor/fashion product.
