Miss Trish is returning to her stylistic roots in Capri, Italy. For resort ’13, designer Trish Carroll is promising her line will be nothing short of a beach holiday, replete with sand-friendly footwear drenched in turquoise, blue zircon crystals and sun-washed colors. “I am remaining true to my identity and the heritage of Miss Trish of Capri with glamorous, chic sandals. The inspiration is the movie ‘Blue Lagoon’ and wherever there are blue lagoons, particularly the Blue Grotto in Capri,” said Carroll, who entered a joint venture last fall with Nina Footwear to grow her business.
As she works to expand the distribution of her line beyond current retailers such as Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom and Kitson in Los Angeles (while also branching out into jewelry), the energetic jet-setter plans to go west this summer to Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming in July, and also will be found in St. Tropez, France, having lunch and people-watching in Le Club 55. Here, Carroll shares a few more of her favorites.
PREFERRED ANIMAL: “The cougar. It covers my ‘Luxy Hot Wheels’ mobile truck showroom.”
WORST EMBELLISHMENT FOR A SHOE: “Oversized logo hardware.”
BIGGEST FASHION FAUX PAS: “A chainmail dress over a catsuit. [I wore it once] at a shoe show.”
CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: Stilettos. The heel has to be at least 5 inches. When you’re more than 6-feet tall, everything seems clearer.”
TRUSTY LIP COLOR: “Chanel Levres Scintillantes Glossimer 131 Mica Pink. It’s very California, very beach babe.”
FAVORITE JEANS: “Levi’s. It’s the brand that all cowboys wear.”
