The 11-year-old is the spunky oldest daughter of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice, who is known as much for her over-the-top outfits as the heated drama she stirs up among her castmates. And Gia, an aspiring dancer and actress who appears regularly on “Housewives,” admitted to having serious closet envy when it comes to her mother’s sprawling wardrobe.
“I love my mom’s style,” Gia told Footwear News. “I can’t wait until I’m old enough to take over her closet. There are so many amazing things in there.”
The duo likes to bond over their frequent shopping outings. “I like to bring her with me and show her how I put outfits together. It’s such great mommy time,” Teresa said. “She has excellent taste and is really brave with fashion, so I almost always like what she picks out, as long as it’s age-appropriate.”
That means heels are off limits for now. “I don’t mind wedges, but she’s too young for heels,” Teresa said. “Gia can wear heels to her eighth-grade graduation if she wants, but not before then.”
Here, the soon-to-be sixth grader talks about celebrity style and adding some kick to her sneakers.
Pairs owned: “About 50. I need a lot of different pairs for my dance routines.”
Favorite brands: Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Juicy Couture. “I’m really into Juicy because everything [they do] is so colorful and comfortable.”
All-time favorite pair: Michael Kors Keely espadrille wedges. “They’re silver and sparkly and have a strappy cut-out design. I love them because they’re really cute and comfortable and I can wear them anywhere.”
Best stores for browsing: The Kids at Heart boutique in Livingston, N.J. “They have everything you could ever want, from cute athletic stuff to fancy dresses. I also love Abercrombie Kids, even down to the way the store smells.”
Shopping companion: “My mom because I love what she picks out — and because she pays for everything.”
Celebrity fashion idol: “I like how Selena Gomez dresses. She’s classy and always looks amazing.”
On my wish list: “I’m actually the same size as my mom now, but she won’t let me wear any of her shoes. I’m dying for her Christian Louboutin black lace boots.”
Biggest trends among my friends right now: “Everyone’s wearing Abercrombie flip-flops, glittery Toms and Osiris sneakers. With Osiris, it’s all about how you do the laces. I like to do bar lacing, basket weaving and even bling them out.”
If I could design a shoe line: “It would be like a Louboutin line for kids — classy Italian leather shoes with lots of sparkle that you could wear anywhere.”
