Celebrity designer Nicole Richie has signed on to be the spokesperson for the annual event, set for Oct. 22 at the Waldorf Astoria.
“I wanted to get involved and do my part in bringing awareness to this cause,” said Richie.
The event will celebrate the late Evelyn Lauder, who founded The Breast Cancer Research Foundation in 1993 and garnered tremendous support for the cause. Lauder, who died in November, will be honored with the FFANY Jodi Fisher Humanitarian Award, which will be accepted by her husband, Leonard Lauder.
“FFANY has been an ardent supporter of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation for eight years and their support has been essential to the foundation’s efforts to prevent and cure breast cancer,” said Myra Biblowit, president of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. “Evelyn had the greatest admiration for Jodi.”
In addition, Lord & Taylor is set to receive the Retailer of the Year award.
