Madden Bows Eighth NYC Store
Steven Madden Ltd. on Wednesday announced the debut of its eighth retail location in New York, at 509 Fifth Ave. The new store will officially open on March 16. Designed by the architecture firm Stav Efrat Studios, the shop takes Madden’s traditional store design and adds gold-leaf wall panels and graffiti graphics with hearts and peace symbols. The front of the store features nine framed LED screens highlighting seasonal trends. Madden will celebrate the launch of the new location on Friday with an opening-night party, live music and free gift with purchase.
Harrys Opens Royal Exchange Location
Harrys of London earlier this week debuted its third retail door in London. The store, located in the Royal Exchange building in the center of the city, opened on March 15 alongside shops for Hermès, Tiffany & Co. and Louis Vuitton. It was designed by Japanese architect Tomoko Azumi and features the brand’s library motif, with stacked shoeboxes on the floor made to resemble bookcases, accessible by sliding wooden library ladders. “We currently serve numerous customers in this area through our Mayfair and Piccadilly stores and the Harrys of London online store,” CEO Giuseppe Bonfiglio said in a statement. “With Royal Exchange being such a key historical landmark in London, we are very excited about our new home.”
Superdry Preps for Santa Monica Opening
Superdry USA is preparing to launch its second Los Angeles store on March 22, on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. The new shop will be the brand’s first with a footwear station showcasing the leather and premium footwear collection and sneakers.
