Next week, the designer will debut his first Manhattan retail store at 109 Spring Street, in New York’s trendy Soho neighborhood. The space will feature footwear, handbags and outerwear.
“We have built an aspirational brand amidst competition from established designers and brands that have been around much longer,” Edelman said. “This is a culmination of that effort.”
The store, designed by architect David Mann, evokes the feeling of a Manhattan apartment. “This is truly a luxury location and a highly developed concept,” the designer said.
Edelman said he had scoured the globe for the perfect neighborhood — and Soho fit the bill. “After spending a lot of time in different areas, I really came to believe that Soho is the location for the global contemporary customer.”
Edelman expects to continue his growth push moving forward. Additional retail expansion, brand extensions and international growth are high on the agenda.
