Winter Ready
Red Wing, Minn.-based Vasque is taking on winter weather with three new insulated winter boot styles for fall ’12. The men’s $150 Snowburban and the women’s $140 Pow-Pow (at left) are designed for winter trail use, with waterproof uppers and aggressively lugged outsoles. In addition, the midcut $140 Snowblime for men and women is made for long hikes, with a stretch panel on the tongue that protects from excess rubbing. Vasque styles will deliver to outdoor specialty and chain accounts, as well as online merchants, on Aug. 15.

Thermal Unit
This fall, Palladium, a division of Westlake, Calif.-based K-Swiss Inc., will launch an insulated boot range designed for its urban customers. The Thermal men’s and women’s boot collection features Aniline waterproof leather uppers, 400 grams of Thinsulate in the uppers and linings, Thermoplus insulation underfoot and rubber outsoles. High boots (at left) will retail for $180, with midcut styles selling for $150. Delivery is slated for Sept. 1 to outdoor shops and boutique accounts.

Tree Tops
Outdoor enthusiasts can go undercover with the new Blowout trail-running men’s shoe by Sparks, Md.-based Fila. The $70 style has a mesh upper with a welded frame for support and is printed with Real Tree AP camouflage. The style will deliver in June to sporting goods shops and other outdoor accounts.

Lighten Up
It’s all about lightness for Goleta, Calif.-based Teva, a division of Deckers Outdoor Corp., which will launch the men’s Bormio winter boot for men this fall. The $150 style features the brand’s Spider Rubber outsole for traction and 200 grams of Thinsulate for warmth. Distribution is targeted to outdoor accounts.
