Lacoste kicks off its 80th anniversary in 2013, and the celebration will include a limited-edition men’s footwear collection that pays homage to the brand’s classic designs.
The series consists of three styles inspired by the original tennis shoe created by company founder René Lacoste in 1963.
First is the René Lacoste OG style, which has been recreated to the original 1963 specifications. The cap-toe shoe also is done in a herringbone fabric inspired by the signature look, and it will retail for $98.
The René Crafted Perf, for $255, is detailed in unlined perforated herringbone leather, complete with leather sole embossed with crocodile detailing.
The René Crafted style features a supple unlined leather upper set on a leather sole. The look also is embossed with the anniversary logo and retails for $255.
The collection debuts in February at select Lacoste boutiques. A companion women’s offering will follow.
