Luxury fosters luxury.
John Lobb unveiled Thursday a partnership with luxury carmaker Aston Martin on an exclusive driving shoe called Winner Sport.
The lightweight, full-grain leather style, featuring John Lobb’s signature double rows of stitching, comes in eight colors: black, chocolate, green, blue, wheat, tan, white and gray. The Winner Sport is lined with sheepskin and features air holes on the vamp to aid in breathability.
John Lobb CEO Renaud Paul-Dauphin, in New York to celebrate the launch, said the partnership represented the idea of design in motion. “This is a unique collaboration, not like anything we have in the collection,” he said. “It’s a sporty look, but still quite technical with strong, flexible materials. It’s 100 percent masculine.”
The shoe company’s creative director, Andrès Hernández, co-designed the look with Aston Martin design director Marek Reichman. “One of the most important elements of Aston Martin design is the dynamic tension that the cars have,” said Reichman. “You can see that tension equally in a beautiful John Lobb shoe.”
The $970 shoe, the first in an ongoing partnership, is now available exclusively at John Lobb in London and at Aston Martin W-One in London. Next, the style will roll out worldwide to John Lobb direct and concession stores and then, at a later stage, to select Aston Martin dealers.
