The Goleta, Calif.-based firm said Wednesday it has promoted Teva brand president Pete Worley to president of Deckers Asia Pacific. Teva global marketing director Joel Heath will take over as brand president of the division, effective immediately.
Worley, who has spent five years with the Teva brand, increased global sales by 55 percent since 2006. In his new role, which will be based in Hong Kong, Worley will oversee the expansion of all of Deckers’ brands in the Asia-Pacific region.
Prior to joining the company in 2009, Heath was president and CEO of Untraditional Marketing, Inc. He also founded the Teva Mountain Games, a brand-sponsored outdoor sporting event that takes place in Vail, Colo.
“Joel’s ability to work collaboratively with Teva’s product and sales teams, combined with his previous successes in marketing and brand positioning, will bring continued success to the brand,” Deckers President and CEO Angel Martinez said in a written statement. “I am confident that Joel will successfully lead Teva’s global growth, while retaining the vibrant and creative culture that has brought the brand to this point.”
