The show’s next edition, scheduled for Feb. 21-23, will be held at the Marriott Glenpointe hotel in Teaneck, N.J. Organizer Allen Blum said the new location offers significantly more space to better accommodate the show’s roster of more than 300 children’s footwear and accessories vendors. Although details are still being finalized, he said plans call for the addition of a special runway presentation, as well as hourly educational seminars for retailers on topics ranging from inventory control to customer service.
In other changes, the show is moving up the dates of its spring market, historically held in mid-September, to Aug. 13-15.
“Having the show earlier will give retailers an opportunity to buy some necessary merchandise for immediate delivery for back to school, as well as to place their future spring ’13 orders,” Blum said. “When you consider how buying habits have changed, [with retailers looking to buy closer to need], it just makes more sense.”
