Bearpaw Footwear is growing its footprint overseas.
The Citrus Heights, Calif.-based firm said Wednesday it inked distribution agreements with Accent Group Ltd. for Australia and New Zealand.
Executives said they are confident the move will help expand the boot brand’s year-round business.
“Due to the fact that each country’s autumn and winter fall on the Northern Hemisphere’s spring and summer months, distribution throughout Australia and New Zealand has long been a goal for Bearpaw,” said Rich Marten, VP and international business director, in a statement. “Our strongest season skews towards the colder months and with this new distribution in the Southern Hemisphere, we anticipate more growth for Bearpaw in the coming year.”
The brand will also relaunch in the Canadian market this summer through an agreement with Gredico Footwear Ltd.
Additionally, Bearpaw will move into Mexico later this year.
