Sanuk has a new Big Kahuna.
Deckers Outdoor Corp., which purchased the flip-flop label on July 1, has announced that Jake Brandman will assume the role of brand president, effective Sept. 1. Brandman will oversee the label’s global strategy and work to integrate the division into the larger corporate operations.
“In Jake, we have a leader for the Sanuk brand who brings sales, operations and marketing experience to the job,” Deckers President and CEO Angel Martinez said in a statement. “He’s got ideal action-sports industry experience, which will help him to retain Sanuk’s vibrant and creative culture while driving the brand’s growth.”
Brandman has previously served as VP of North American sales for Teva, also owned by Deckers. He also has held executive posts at Ahnu, Keen, Vans and Pro-tec.
Jeff Kelley, founder of Sanuk, will become creative director for the brand.
