Wilson debuted the new look of its tennis apparel and footwear Wednesday night in New York with a fashion show.
The brand’s new Tour Ikon shoe for men, women and kids will hit tennis stores in January. The style is designed for play on both hard and soft court surfaces, and durability is a key feature: The brand will be backing the shoes with a 6-month outsole guarantee.
Mike Steck, the brand’s global director of marketing for racquet sports, said “style, comfort, performance and movability” were the key elements of the spring/summer ’12 collection, one of the first created by the company after it spent two years revamping the design and research and development teams and bringing licensed product in-house.
Steck said to expect more rollouts for the 2013 and 2014 seasons as the brand ramps up its focus on footwear.
