Blake Krueger has been elected chairman of the Footwear Distributors & Retailers of America, the Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit announced Tuesday.
Krueger, who is president, chairman and CEO of Rockford, Mich.-based Wolverine World Wide, previously served as vice chairman of the organization. He takes over for outgoing chairman Matt Rubel, president, chairman and CEO of Topeka, Kan.-based Collective Brands Inc.
According to an FDRA spokeswoman, during Krueger’s two-year tenure he will be responsible for setting the organization’s priorities and will work in conjunction with the board of directors, executive committee and FDRA President Matt Priest to accomplish them.
“FDRA has a long history of top footwear executives serving as chairman of the association. With the election of Blake Krueger, this trend is guaranteed to continue. FDRA and its members look forward to serving the industry under Blake’s leadership,” Priest said in a statement.
“I look forward to helping represent the industry in these challenging times and continuing our spirit of successful partnership,” Krueger said in the release. “I am excited to be part of this organization’s mission of serving and representing the footwear industry.”
