The Portland, Ore.-based company will launch new websites for its flagship Columbia brand and for Sorel. In addition to Canada, the shoes will be available to customers in the U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Spain.
When they debut, the websites will offer information about the features and benefits of the products, full-screen zoom capability, product videos, a product comparison tool, ratings and reviews, as well as a list of independent and online retailers that also carry the brands.
“We see e-commerce as an important tool that helps us fulfill our responsibility to build a strong brand for the benefit of customers and all our business partners,” said Christian Finell, GM of Columbia’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region, in a written statement. “E-commerce is an essential brand platform that allows us to bring our brands to life and help people find the styles they need to enjoy the outdoors.”
Columbia first launched U.S.-only e-commerce sites for both brands in fall ’09.
