Buzz: Sperry Top-Sider, Ugg Australia & More

Sperry x Milly
Sperry Top-Sider and Milly’s capsule collection hits stores in February. The classic boat shoes, platforms, duck boots, canvas sneakers and wrap wedges, seen at Milly’s spring runway show, infuse Sperry’s classic style with Milly designer Michelle Smith’s playful prints. The brands will also debut a girls collection together to complement Milly’s recent plunge into the children’s market. The Milly for Sperry Top-Sider capsule will be available at Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, Bergdorf Goodman, Sperry Top-Sider retail stores and the Milly Madison Avenue flagship. Styles will retail for $90 to $225 for women and $45 to $75 for girls.

Sandal Magic
Korean sandal brand Smart Flip is bringing its line of interactive sandals to the U.S. this spring. The series of adult and children’s styles comes with removable straps. The colorful, lightweight sandals feature footbeds and outsoles made of EVA, with straps made of PVC. According to CEO Rairhard Rosas, the components will be sold separately to allow for color customization. The sandals retail for $40, with the straps and innersoles at less than $10. Delivery is slated for March. The company is also introducing Roll-up Flip-Flops, a series of novelty styles for men, women and kids that come rolled up in a cardboard cylinder. After they’re removed, the cylinder turns into a bank. The sandals feature TPU straps and EVA soles and are available in a range of colors. They retail for $20 and are available for immediate delivery. Both lines are targeted at resort specialty stores, independents and department stores.

Sole Contest
Ugg Australia is looking to consumers for its the ninth annual Art and Sole. The brand is asking its faithful customers to add their designs to a signature style. A provided template is available on the website, and aspiring artists can upload their designs for a chance to have their look sold domestically at Ugg stores and online next year to benefit The Boys and Girls Clubs of America. The winner will also receive $5,000, one pair of the personally designed Ugg boots, an Ugg bag and the chance to have their design featured on all of Ugg’s social media channels. The winner will be announced on Jan. 18.
