Two Ten Footwear Foundation — and 130 volunteers from the shoe industry — were on a mission to feed the hungry late last month.
The philanthropic organization led volunteer efforts at food banks in Irvine, Calif., and Milwaukee as part of community service days held in those areas.
Volunteers from Weyco Group, Brown Shoe, Bon Ton, Kohl’s, Adidas and more turned out for Milwaukee’s third-annual Milwaukee Community Service Day on June 17 to sort 52,000 pounds of food at the Hunger Task Force.
In Irvine, a group from Skechers, Vans, Asics and more came out on June 25 to the Second Harvest Food Bank, an affiliate of Feeding America, to package more than 600 boxes of food for families in need.
Two more projects are planned for this fall, in New York and New England.
