The new location includes a selection of men’s, women’s and children’s Sperry seasonal products — including its iconic boat shoes — in a nautical setting. The grand opening featured a visit from Olympic silver medalist and sailor Zach Railey, who greeted customers and signed autographs. Railey, a Florida native and Sperry athlete, said in a statement, “Tampa is the perfect place to open the brand’s first retail store in a location where the ocean is part of the fabric of this city.”
Now in its 75th year, Sperry is planning to bow two more stores in Florida in the coming weeks, in Boca Raton and Orlando. Shops in Dallas and Kansas City, Mo., are also slated for next month.
“The new Tampa store opening is timed perfectly, during our 75th anniversary year, and is a fun, authentic, Sperry-dedicated shopping outlet located in a key market for the brand,” Craig Reingold, president of Sperry, said in a statement.
