The sold-out Ft. Lauderdale Convention Center drew a wide range of exhibitors including Steve Madden and newcomer Ed Hardy, said Executive Director Beverlee Maier.
The new location allowed for the show to reach retailers from Georgia and Louisiana, said Maier. Retail attendance was also up, about 5 percent compared to last year. Recovering after a rough year, attendees were now ready to make orders while at the show.
“I think [retailers] are still cautious, and they are still trying to buy smarter, but there is optimism,” said Maier. “They feel like 2009 was tough, but 2010 has to be better.”
The next show will run from June 27-29, back at the Miami Beach location, before returning to Ft. Lauderdale for the September market.
