Pony Inc. is bidding San Diego a fond farewell.
The North American headquarters is being relocated to the Cooper Building in Los Angeles, the company announced on Thursday.
“We feel that this is the perfect time to make the move to Los Angeles to be more easily accessible to key accounts, stylists and all the magic that comes along with the Hollywood crowd,” said Colin Brickley, marketing and PR director for Pony, in a statement.
The move comes on the heels of the company’s plan to expand overseas starting this year, a strategy that was detailed to Footwear News last year. Several licensing deals were to kick in for spring ’10 as well in effort to grow its range of products.
Pony’s Archive collection for holiday debuts later this month, featuring re-releases of styles from the 1970s and 1980s. Additional styles from the period will continue to be added to the new line over the next few seasons and available at specialty retailers, boutiques and online.
