New Balance announced Wednesday a multi-year endorsement contract with Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia.
Under the terms of the deal, the Boston-based athletic company will be Pedroia’s official footwear and off-field apparel provider. The former league MVP will be outfitted in the New Balance 1101 baseball spike and will have a special make-up in his signature camouflage colors. New Balance will also be presenting sponsor of The Run to Home Base 9K, an inaugural fundraiser that to benefit the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program.
“His relentless drive on the field and his enthusiasm and passion for giving back to the community off the field make him a great fit with our company,” said Mark Cavanaugh, general manager for team sports at New Balance, in a statement. “As a Boston-based company with a history of producing performance baseball product, we are thrilled to be able to watch our brand in action in support of our home team.”
