F-Troupe will open its first standalone store in London’s Soho neighborhood next month.
Located at 33 Marshall St., the 800-sq.-ft. space will have a Victorian influence and will showcase the fall ’10 collection of men’s and women’s shoes and boots, including a patent boot festooned with four bows and a shearling-lined walking boot. The store will also have an exclusive capsule collection of made-in-England brogue shoes for men and women, retailing from $300.
“There does seem to be a new energy for smaller independent labels,” said Mick Hoyle, who launched the label back in 2003. “In the current climate, smaller companies can afford to change direction and adapt quickly. This, along with soft rents and flexible landlords, makes a retail unit far more likely to succeed [these days]. Our brand has continued to grow, and the shop felt like a natural progression.”
