Dearfoams Inks Licensing Agreement

Iconic slipper brand Dearfoams is moving into apparel in 2011.

Parent company R.G. Barry Corp. of Pickerington, Ohio, has licensed the name to Olivet International for sleepwear and apparel. The multiyear agreement gives Olivet exclusive rights to develop and market a variety of sleepwear, activewear and accessory products under the Dearfoams, DF by Dearfoams, Utopia by Dearfoams and DF Sport labels for distribution in North and South America.

“This is a very exciting opportunity for our company,” R.G. Barry President and CEO Greg Tunney said in a company statement. “Our strategy for growth has always included extending the Dearfoams name beyond slippers, and as a supplier to many of the world’s best retailers, we view Olivet as an ideal choice to make this element of our growth strategy a reality.”

The collection of sleepwear, loungewear, robes and cold-weather apparel for men, women and girls will launch for fall ’11, with additional accessory and apparel extensions set for 2012.
