Women’s Buzz: Pour La Victoire… Elizabeth Brady

Perfect Pair
Pour La Victoire and Zappos.com have tied the knot. The New York-based brand and the footwear e-tailer have paired up to launch Pour La Victoire’s debut bridal collection, which includes sandals for beach weddings, delicate flats and stilettos in traditional wedding day hues such as champagne and silver. The 20-style line, priced between $150 and $250, is inspired by vintage styles and highly ornamental looks. It will launch for spring ’10 and is set to retail exclusively with Zappos for its first season. The line will be made available in later seasons to retailers that carry the main Pour La Victoire collection, including Bergdorf Goodman and Nordstrom.

Two for One
Elizabeth Brady has added a little bling to spring. The New York-based designer created a kidskin ballerina slipper adorned with a removable Swarovski crystal pendant that can be worn as a necklace. The square-shaped stone, which Brady discovered on a visit to New York’s newly opened Swarovski Crystallized concept store, can be tied onto the ballet flat — offered in black, ivory (below), taupe and burgundy — or looped onto a silk cord and worn as a necklace. The package, expected to retail for $325 at Elizabethbradynyc.com and at selected high-end boutiques, includes a pair of the shoes, the crystal embellishment and a black, silver or topaz silk cord.

New Heights
French Sole New York is upping the ante for spring ’10 with a collection of heels to complement its core ballerina line. The New York-based brand is unveiling three new styles with heel heights ranging from 1 1/2 inches to 3 inches (at right) for women who have embraced the company’s flats and want an extra boost. Priced between $189 and $210, the heels are expected to retail at the French Sole flagship store in Manhattan and at specialty boutiques and department stores.

Sugary Sweet
Irwindale, Calif.-based EDL is launching a new juniors’ line called Jellypop, which will be distinguished by its bubblegum-style looks. The collection is crafted from various fabric and faux-leather uppers and features styles including cork platforms with floral prints and bow details; braided and lace-up gladiator sandals; and flats with glittery uppers, faux-snake prints and decorative toe treatments. Retailing from $39 to $69, the shoes will deliver to second-tier department stores for spring ’10.
