Reebok today announced it was cutting 300 jobs in its North America and Latin America offices, 100 of which will be at the company’s Canton, Mass.-based headquarters.
A Reebok spokesperson said the positions eliminated would be taken from all departments, with the majority coming from the sales operations and marketing departments.
“With the current economic conditions and the realities of our business, we have taken the necessary steps to bring our cost structure in line with our 2009 targets,” Ulrich Becker, president & CEO of Reebok International, said in a statement. “This is a difficult day for all of us. I want to publicly thank our employees for their years of service and dedication to the company.”
Reebok is a division of Herzogenaurach, Germany-based Adidas.
