Martin Dingman is relaunching his bag category. For the first time in four years, the high-end men’s shoe and accessories designer will offer a four-piece collection in brown tumbled leather for a holiday/spring delivery. Priced between $195 and $495, the bags will be part of the Rudyard Collection, which includes matching shoes (a Chelsea boot, loafer and wingtip) and belts. Dingman will target his current retailers, as well as higher-end luggage stores and gift shops.
U.K.-based apparel brand Gibson London is bringing its footwear line to the U.S. for spring ’10. The collection of music-inspired dress and casual shoes features a variety of leather finishes, as well as distressed, washed and colored suedes (at left). Among the casual styles are a deck shoe and a range of hybrid silhouettes on soft rubber soles. Now in its third season, Gibson footwear will retail for $180 to $230 in the States.
Upscale men’s accessories brand Mulholland, known for its classic briefcases, bags, luggage and small leather goods, is expanding its offering with a companion line of shoes and belts. The footwear collection, set to retail from $160 to $295, includes boat shoes, penny mocs, oxfords and Chelsea boots. Manufactured primarily in Brazil, the shoes will incorporate the San Francisco-based brand’s signature Latigo saddle leather in bridle tan, stout (a dark coffee color) and black. The company said it decided to enter the footwear arena because men buy footwear more often than a briefcase or bag. The collection will begin shipping in December and will be available at specialty retailers, independents and department stores, as well as Mulholland’s San Francisco retail boutique.
Leathergoods maker Billykirk will debut shoes for holiday ’09, in collaboration with Sebago. The offering includes two styles: a boat-inspired laceup and a lace-up boot (below), each available in black leather, brown leather and tan suede. Slated to deliver in November, the shoe will retail for $225 and the boot for $275. The 10-year-old brand, run by brothers Chris and Kirk Bray, said it hopes to continue the relationship with Sebago after this debut.
