Kurt Geiger, one of the U.K.’s leading footwear retailers, has inked a footwear licensing deal with Radley, the British branded handbag label whose logo is a distinctive dog.
Kurt Geiger will be wholly responsible for the design, development and global distribution of the new Radley women’s shoe collection, which is scheduled to bow for spring ’10. Kurt Geiger established its wholesale and licensing division in 2007 and holds the footwear licenses for French Connection and Nicole Farhi.
“Building on our success with French Connection and Nicole Farhi, it is only natural to explore new licensing opportunities to enable us to increase our brand portfolio and international retail presence,” said Andrew Lee, Kurt Geiger’s director of wholesale and licensing. “Radley is highly recognized for creating quality products with individuality and an exceptional attention to detail at affordable prices. This, paired with our knowledge in design, supply chain and distribution, will lead to a successful and ongoing partnership.”
Radley CEO Roger Best added, “Women’s footwear and handbags are natural bedfellows, and our move into footwear has been planned for some time.”
