Puma has bowed a development center in Vietnam for all footwear and apparel prototype and sample suppliers. The new center will cover 85 percent of Puma’s footwear and 15 percent of the company’s apparel development needs, according to a statement.
Other facilities that will be housed in the development center include sourcing, engineering, materials and components, and laboratory and research centers.
“This trend-setting concept of a product development center with more than 40 Puma suppliers under one roof, working tightly together, will increase Puma’s speed to market, reduce our cost base and make sure that our products are of excellent quality,” Jochen Zeitz, chairman and CEO, said in the statement.
Stylesight Expands to Japan
Stylesight, the New York-based company that provides technology and trend forecasting tools for the fashion industries, has inked a deal with Itochu Fashion Systems in Japan to launch Stylesight in Japanese in December.
IFS and Stylesight will team up to create trend content for Japanese subscribers, and IFS will control the customer support and subscriber training for Stylesight’s various technical tools and services, such as trend seminars.
