Finish Line Founder Retires From Board

David Klapper, who co-founded The Finish Line in 1976 with Alan Cohen, has retired from the company’s board of directors. The executive, 60, has been a member of the Indianapolis-based company’s board since 1982, and held various executive positions at Finish Line until 2008.
 
Klapper has been replaced by Norman Gurwitz, an adviser to Emmis Communications Corp. Gurwitz has also served in other positions at Emmis, including VP, corporate counsel and director of human resources, as well as working at the Internal Revenue Service.
 
Separately on Friday, the company declared a quarterly cash dividend of 3 cents a share, payable on Sept. 15, 2009.
