The European Confederation of the Footwear Industry named Vito Artioli as president of the organization.
Artioli was previously the president of the Italian Footwear Manufacturers’ Association. He will take over his new position from Rafael Calvo.
In a statement, Artioli said he would pursue compulsory labeling for products that come from outside the European Union and would continue investigations into trade practices carried out by China and Vietnam. He added that he would work toward the “geographical expansion of our membership base.”
