Bandals, which unveiled Beach Bandals interchangeable flip-flops last month, is gearing up for the July debut of its Casual Bandals leather sandal line. The Casual Bandals base, set to retail for about $90, includes a contoured footbed, molded arch and toe bar, cork midsole and a molded rubber outsole. Interchangeable bands for the Casual Bandals come in four styles and will retail between $15 and $30. The Commerce Township, Mich.-based company’s Beach Bandals line consists of four base colors — black, cream, pink and brown — and 20 strap designs. The flip-flop base retails between $35 and $40, while straps cost between $12 and $15.
Zuzatz, based in Troy, Mich., is stirring up attention for its line of interchangeable sandals by teaming up with fashion students across the country. Students from the University of Florida, the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Georgia, among others, have been working with the company’s Brand Ambassador Program to help generate buzz for the line, which is making its debut this month. Zuzatz wedge flip-flops are offered in a brown and black and can be mixed with 30 different styles and colors of straps. The base comes with two sets of straps and is set to retail for $49.95. Straps, which range from simple nylon to stone embellishments, sell in sets of three from $28 to $50.
SwitchFlops, a line of interchangeable flip-flops developed by entrepreneur Lindsay Phillips, will introduce its first kids’ line next month. The debut offering is comprised of three “base” styles: a black, flat Lindsay Phillips flip-flop; a blue, flat flip-flop with a combination floral-and-polka-dot print footbed; and a wedge-heel flip-flop featuring a footbed with a peace-sign-and-heart print. A selection of 12 interchangeable Velcro straps is available separately, allowing kids to transform their flip-flops into a wide variety of looks. Strap designs range from zebra-print jacquard to grosgrain ribbon, detailed with trims such as rhinestone buttons and gems. The flip-flops will retail for $30 to $35 a pair, while the straps will retail for $10 each.
