The collection is the latest footwear offering through the retailer’s limited-edition accessories collaboration strategy, which brings big-name, high-fashion design styling to the mass market.
“The Sigerson Morrison for Target collection represents the [brand’s] design point of view,” said Susan Giesen, spokeswoman for Minneapolis-based Target. “We respect these designers, and as we do with all our [collaborators], we look for designers who can help build Target’s design credibility and establish us as a fashion-forward retailer.”
Sigerson Morrison for Target, which will retail for $29.99 to $39.99, will be available Oct. 12 to Dec. 26 at Target stores nationwide, with select styles sold exclusively through Target.com.
“We’re hoping the collection will attract a mix of people who already know the brand and people who just fall for the shoes,” said Morrison. “This is the holiday collection, so the shoes all have sizzling color and flashes of shine and glitz.”
According to Giesen, the collection includes eight styles of pumps, flats and booties with 19 total SKUs that will incorporate silver, purple and aqua coloring, as well as jewel and buckle detailing.
“[This collaboration] appealed to us because we saw it as a challenge to execute our ideas at a high-street price while maintaining the essential elements of a Sigerson Morrison shoe,” said Sigerson.
Giesen said the company’s limited-edition accessories collections have been successful and historically have been kept as single-season offerings. Other brands that have created limited-edition footwear collections for Target include Loeffler Randall and Hollywould.
