NEW YORK — Soles4Souls Inc., based in Nashville, Tenn., has sent 85,000 pairs of new shoes to aid in the Hurricane Ike relief efforts. The organization also pledged Tuesday to continue to supply the needs of those impacted by the string of recent hurricanes.
Working with Soles4Souls in its initiatives is Evansville, Ind.-based Shoe Carnival Inc. It said it will extend its exclusive fundraising program in support of hurricane victims to Oct. 1 at all of its 300 stores nationwide.
To date, Soles4Souls has donated more than 1 million pairs of shoes to those affected by natural disasters in the U.S.
