Sanita Clogs Ruled Saleable in U.S.

NEW YORK  — Danish clog maker Sanita A/S, in an ongoing legal dispute with Dansko Inc. over the sale of Sanita’s stapled flexible clogs in the U.S. market, has won another round in court.

In an appeal by Dansko, the Danish Appeal Court for the Western District in Denmark on May 5 found the company’s claim without merit on all counts, according to Sanita’s legal counsel, Finn Martensen.

Further, the court significantly raised the amount that Dansko, based in West Grove, Pa., must pay Sanita as compensation for attorney’s fees and costs to cover the full amount.

As a result of the decision, Sanita Clogs Inc., headquartered in Temecula, Calif., can sell its stapled clogs in the States with no restrictions.
